| NAPLES FL -- January 16, 2004 Results from a
recent county-paid survey revealed the majority of homeowners who responded
to the questionnaire opposed implementing the park plan, which calls for
adding sidewalks, trees and lights, among other improvements.
The Area Association and Naples Park Coalition for
Community Involvement have been fighting against the Community Park Plan for
months.
Members from the Property Owners of Naples Park petitioned
the County in 2001 to conduct a neighborhood study,
Commissioner Jim Carter represented District 2 at that time.
Commissioner
Halas assured residents that the other four county commissioners are as
eager as he is to shelve the Community Plan at a Thursday night meeting of
the Naples Park Area Association.
