Glendora Unified School District -- Sept 22, 2003  District enrollment is down 77* students compared with the same time last year. The Superintendent stated that the District receives $4,632.29 per student, and that should the enrollment not increase, the District will be looking at a reduction of $356,686.33 in the next school year’s budget
District enrollment includes the several hundred students that don't live in Glendora but commute to a Glendora school daily.

U.S. Birth Rate At Lowest Level Since 1909  -- The U.S. birth rate in 2002 fell to its lowest level since records were first kept, according to federal officials. A development that has major implications for how families are structured, and how communities spend money.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention the U.S. has experienced a 17 percent decline since 1990. America is increasingly a society of seniors and less of young people.
